PART-TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT (20-30 hours per week)
Objectives of this role
• Provide administrative support to Solicitors and Conveyancers.
• Represent the organisation with professionalism and integrity when dealing with clients and officials.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of organisational and client information.
Responsibilities
• Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email.
• Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents, such as letters when instructed.
• Printing and compiling documents.
• Archiving files.
• Perform general administrative duties.
• Create and maintain files.
• Perform legal and background research when requested.
• Edit documents using Word and Adobe.
Skills and qualifications
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Adobe.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
• Well-presented, friendly, enthusiastic and be willing to learn and work in a team environment.
• Able to travel between our Bega and Merimbula offices and to our Eden office when required.
• Proactive, attentive and have initiative to be always able to assist.
• Experience in the legal industry and knowledge of online court filing systems, Smokeball and PEXA is preferred but not required.
• Year 12 Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
